Dr. Mark Sundberg

*Board Certified Behavior Analyst and internationally recognized leader in autism research and treatment.

*Co-authored Teaching Language to Children with Autism or Other Developmental Disabilities and The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills: The ABLLS. 

*Published over 45 professional papers, given over 450 conference presentations and workshops nationally and internationally, taught 80 college courses on behavior analysis, verbal behavior, sign language, and child development and has received a number of awards.

*Currently conducts research and consults to schools and programs in the San Francisco Bay area.

 

Dr. David P. Wacker

*Department of Pediatrics at the University of Iowa. *Research and clinical experience in functional analysis, functional communication training, proactive treatment of severe problem behaviors early parental intervention for severe problem behaviors in home settings, and stereotypical behavior.

 

Dr. Saul Axelrod

*Dr. Axelrod is a legend within behavioral education.

 *More than 30 years experience publishing and practicing in the fields of teacher preparation, behavior analysis, instructional methods and classroom management.

*Current research at Temple University addresses educating child of poverty, teaching behavioral education, and developing methods for working with self-injurious and aggressive behavior in persons with developmental disabilities.

 

Dr. Andy Bondy

*President/Founder of Pyramid Educational Consultants, Inc. *Leader in the field of autism and applied behavior analysis. *Directed a statewide public school system for students with autism for fourteen years and co-authored the PECS Training Manual and wrote the Pyramid Approach to Education.

 

Dr. William Ahearn
*Director of Research, New England Center for Children.
*Clinical Assistant Professor in Northeastern University's Master's program in Applied Behavior Analysis.

*Coordinates continuing education for Board Certification in Behavior Analysis.

*Research interests include assessment and treatment of severe problem behavior, resistance to change, behavioral economics, and pediatric feeding difficulties.

*Widely published in behavior and medical journals.

*Member, editorial Boards for the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and Behavioral Interventions.

 

Rep. Leah Vukmir , 14th Assembly District

*Elected to the Wisconsin Assembly in 2002 and reelected since 2004.

*Vocal advocate for effective instruction has earned her numerous honors including former research fellow, Wisconsin Policy Research Institute; Past Pres. and Co-founder of Parents Raising Educational Standards in Schools (PRESS). *Former member of the Standards and Assessments Subcommittee of Gov. Thompson's Task Force on Education and Learning; and English/Language Arts Task Force of Gov. Thompson's Council on Model Academic Standards.

*Nationally recognized authority on education issues.

*Received the Center for Education Reform's Unsung Hero Award 1998.

 

Dr Glen Sallows

*Clinical Psychologist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst. *President of the Wisconsin Early Autism Project.

*Director of the Project for Psychotic and Neurologically Impaired children for fourteen years and Director of the Primary Prevention Project for five years at Mendota Mental Health Institute prior to founding WEAP.

*Nationally and internationally recognized in the areas of child treatment and of Autism Spectrum Disorders.

 

Dr. Tamlynn Sallows

*Published and worked widely in the area of autism.

*Led numerous workshops, and published studies on teaching methodologies (especially Lovaas’s methods).

 

Matt Tincani

*Member, graduate faculty Univ. of Nevada at Los Vegas.

*Coordinates the Masters Degree Program in Autism.

*Heads the UNLV Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders.

*Oversees community-focused research, assessment training, and service projects.

 

Kevin Klatt

*Board Certified Behavior Analyst researching verbal behavior, preference assessment, and tactics for identifying procedures that are most effective in teaching young children with autism.

*Associate professor and the founder and director of the Campus Autism Program at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
 

David Pyles
*Faculty member, Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

*Focuses on functional behavior assessment and the field of developmental disabilities.

*Leads workshops and courses on numerous courses in basic and applied topics and has given many workshops and presentations on FBA and working with handicapped populations.

Ms. Tamara Kasper, MS, CCC-Speech & Lang. Pathologist

*Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst.

*Director of the Center for Autism Treatment.

*14 years experience as a pediatric speech/language pathologist treating children with challenging behaviors.

 

Dr. Kimberly Nix Berens

*President and Educational Director of the Center for Advanced Learning, Inc. in Reno, NV.
*Extensive direct experience delivering instruction to children and preparing teachers to use many of our most proven practices.

 

Dr. Doug Woods

*Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

*Researches the assessment and treatment of tic disorders, trichotillomania, and other OCD-spectrum disorders in children and adults.

*Additional interests include behavior therapy as applied to childhood feeding problems, oppositional/conduct problems, and social rejection.

 

Dr. Jennifer Asmus

*Member, UW-Madison faculty where she is concentrating her current efforts on autism.

*Received funding from the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate and remediate severe problematic behaviors and socially withdrawn behavior of children with Autism.

*Editorial board of the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis.

*Teaching interests include applied behavior analysis, assessment and intervention for children with developmental disabilities, single-subject design, and evidenced-based practice.

 

Dr. Ellie C. Hartman
*Associate Scientist at the University of Wisconsin—Stout’s Vocational Rehabilitation Institute, Pathways to Independence Projects.

*Taught classroom management, behavior analysis, and functional assessment/analysis within natural settings (in school or at home). *Numerous presentations on these topics at national conventions and has publications in press.
